As part of my practical solutions campaign, I open up the question of what being healthy this summer looks like for you? Is it spending time outdoors, wonderful summer picnics, playing with the kids or family reunions? Stopping to smell the flowers or getting away for a short break?

Our well-being isn’t just dependent on exercise and eating right (and they are still important!) but is also defined by how we enjoy our lives. And how we manage the regular and not so regular situations in life, along with the thoughts and viewpoints that may lead to stress.

Even in summer there are opportunities for stress- the kids being out of school or no time off from work. Maybe it’s family gatherings or too much sun (that is stressful on the body) or ice cream. All these and more can create a stress response to the body or mind. So what can a person do?

Simple! Do more of what you enjoy and less what leads to stress. Below are 5 tips to help you better enjoy your summer!

1) Do what matters (is important) to you
2) Be out in nature or have some quiet reflective time
3) Organize your life/ Nix the clutter
4) Laugh and spend time playing
5) Look at things from another perspective, detach from your own

If you are ready to put into practice these suggestions and to start to making sustainable life changes, you are ready for a life coach!

The Holiday Season is a stressful time. Many people spend more money than they have, eat much more than their bodies need, and are overwhelmed with all the expectations and demands that come at this time of year. Over-indulgences lead to debt, excessive weight and regretful actions, and then we pay the price for the first half of the New Year! Can you relate?

It is possible to enjoy the holidays without sacrificing your health and wellness!  This is the time for family and celebration, but you don’t have to lose a sense of yourself!
