Spring is all about new growth, new beginnings, freshness and color! After the winter’s chill and darkness, we emerge in new light, stretch our limbs, take in a deep breath and grow! This is the time to create new projects, shed layers of extra ‘weight’ (figuratively and actually!) and get moving!
This is more so (than January 1st) the time to create new activities and habits, the time to actually design your life. Create more relaxation and fun, start eating higher quality foods, or move your body to get the energy and conditioning it needs. What is it you want to create for yourself? How do you want to feel? What new ways & beings can be started this spring so you are living more in alignment with the life you desire? Better than a New Year’s revolution, Spring is the time to create a New You revelation!
Here are 5 steps you can take to create sustainable change in your life-
* Consider WHY do you want to make a change- Do you feel it in your body (like an emotion stirred) when you think of this? If you are clear about your own intrinsic motivation you are more apt to stick with it! Clarify your motivation and keep it as a reminder.
* Create SMART goals- Make your goals Specific, Measurable, Action-oriented, Realistic, and Time defined. This will help with keeping on track and defining next steps.
* Set a plan- Scheduling and planning are your friends! Use your planner to set appointments to start taking the actions that will help you successfully move toward your goal. Break down into doable steps (smaller if those are seemingly overwhelming)
* Get support- Tell everyone, surround yourself with others up to the same thing, get a coach.
* Take immediate action- No better time then the present to take your 1st step! What will that be? Ditch the negative thoughts and start growing now!
Springing to life isn’t an easy task, but with some planning and nurturing it is doable. Sometimes a seed is dormant for months, often years, but when the conditions are right, the new leaves begin to grow. What conditions do you need to flourish? As always, I am here to support, happy to help you clearly define how to apply these steps to your life! To your best health and well-being!

What do you notice that you notice? Just that we can be aware of life, ourselves, our world..Do you understand the vastness in the awareness we have and the consciousness that we are gifted? It is immense, unparalleled, amazing. Most beings on this planet have not been given this special gift, yet most humans aren’t even vaguely aware of the immensity of it all, how special and unique we really are, or that it is even there!
It is so hard to fathom. That we don’t have to live unconsciously, that we can be aware and make choices. So then why don’t we make the best choices at all times? Maybe we do, and our best changes with every moment…But many choices are out of fear, greed, desire, most being unconscious. I know that human beings have contemplated this for as long as we have been aware of it. This is really what separates us out from other species lesser evolved. Or so we think…
So what does this have to do with our wellness? Without this awareness, we can not choose, may not see the connection between what I will do next, and how that aligns with my higher purpose, or the goal that I am trying to attain. In being aware, we can connect the dots, and have a conscious choice in the direction of our lives, thus affecting our wellbeing. Making the best choices for ourselves right now. If you were consciously directing your life, what choices would you be making? How would this affect your wellbeing?

Accountability- to hold to account, to account for what is so. What is so? That is, what ‘is’. There is no right or wrong, good or bad in what is so. There just ‘is’. When I coach, or any coach practices, I hold to account my clients. There is no judgement, or ‘you are a bad person because you didn’t do as you said!’.
A mature conversation might look like ‘What obstacles have occured such that you did not do what you said’. As opposed to the usual less-than-mature conversations we tend to have (see judgment, criticism, etc.)
We live in a society that so easily discards our word, to others and particularly, to ourselves. We also do what is easy, what is there in the moment, even if it is counter, or undermines, what we really want (like weight & money goals, etc.). Why is that? Training? Lack of motivation? Lack of commitment? Weakness?
True evolvement means we say what we do, do what we say. Clean it up if you don’t. All the rest is baggage that leads to alot of emotional upheaval, meaning-making. What is so, is what is so. The rest is story, interpretation, often garbage. Holding to account can be clean-say what is so. If it is not in alignment with what you want, consider what you need to do different. It’s your word, what is it worth to you??
